The zine

As a graphic designer, I aim to incorporate critical social and environmental issues into my work, leveraging visual experimentation to raise awareness and offer fresh perspectives on sustainability and responsibility.

The Human Footprint: Driving Global Warming?

It is crucial to ensure that we contribute to a world that is better than the one we were born into.

As a graphic designer, I strive to integrate pressing social and environmental issues into my work, using visual experimentation to spread awareness and new perspectives on sustainability and responsibility.

zine plan

It was important for me to approach this project ethically and highlight issues that matter to me most.

Understanding the consequences of industrial consumption and its effect on ecosystems motivated me to incorporate this theme into my work, using hand-drawn design as a tool to encourage more sustainable choices, especially from a young age.

This initial flat plans has helped me to envision the experimentation with the invagination layout giving me a broader understanding of the overall visual impact.

sketching ideas

The initial phase of visual experimentation played a crucial role in shaping the direction of this project. These early tests not only informed the visual language but also guided the research focus and conceptual framework of my A5 landscape zine. Each element—from the cover design to the layout of individual spreads—was developed through a process of craft-based exploration. By embracing physical making techniques and material experimentation, I was able to translate abstract ideas into a compelling visual narrative. The handmade quality of the zine adds a tactile layer of meaning, reinforcing the expressive and provocative nature of the argument at its core. This approach allowed me to construct a more immersive and thoughtful response, where form and content work in harmony to support the message.
